Sachie Ikegami, MD, PhD, CABP(AABB), QIA(ASCT), is Medical Director of the Cellular Therapy Division at Hoxworth Blood Center and Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She provides medical oversight for the cellular therapy laboratory, which supports five adult and pediatric bone marrow transplant programs, and clinical decision support in transfusion medicine, apheresis, and cellular immunotherapy. Her clinical and research interests focus on the development and translation of novel blood- and cell-based therapeutics. Prior to specializing in pathology, transfusion medicine, and cellular therapy, Dr. Ikegami trained and practiced neurosurgery in Japan and conducted molecular biology/oncology research at the NIEHS/NIH.
