Dr. Lance Williams is a transfusion medicine and therapeutic apheresis physician and currently serves as Medical Director of Therapeutic Apheresis at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. He completed residency training in Pathology at East Carolina University followed by fellowship training in Transfusion Medicine at Yale University. Dr. Williams previously served as faculty at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he directed clinical apheresis services and received multiple teaching awards for medical education. His clinical and academic work focuses on therapeutic apheresis, transfusion safety, and the evaluation of emerging applications of extracorporeal therapies. He has lectured nationally on apheresis practice and evidence evaluation in transfusion medicine.
