My name is Claribel Resto, and I bring over 25 years of experience in the laboratory field, with a strong background in Immunohematology Reference Laboratories, Transfusion Services, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs, General Laboratory Operations, and Management. Currently, I serve as the Director of five Immunohematology Reference Laboratories, located in Florida and North Carolina, all accredited by AABB for Transfusion Services. Three are IRL-accredited, with specialties in molecular testing, RH allele matching, and monocyte mononuclear assays. I’m originally from Puerto Rico, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. I am certified by ASCP as a Medical Laboratory Scientist and as a Specialist in Blood Banking. I also hold a Master of Health Care Science and a Yellow Belt in Lean Six Sigma, with a focus on process improvement. In addition to my operational responsibilities, I actively contribute to the field through my roles on the AABB IRL Accreditation Committee and the ARDP Advisory Committee.
