Dr. Lee Anne Sorto, DNP, FNP‑C, is a healthcare leader with more than 15 years of experience in clinical operations, quality improvement, and patient safety across rural and urban care settings. Her background includes emergency medicine, urgent care, hospital leadership, and enterprise‑level quality initiatives, with a focus on improving patient outcomes through reliable, team‑based systems of care. She currently serves as Transfusion Safety Officer at ECU Health Medical Center, supporting a nine‑hospital system serving more than 1.4 million people.
In her role, Dr. Sorto collaborates with laboratory, nursing, physician, and administrative leaders to implement evidence‑based transfusion practices and patient blood management strategies, including systemwide expansion of massive hemorrhage protocols and low‑titer group O whole blood for trauma care. Previously, she served as Chief Quality Officer at a rural hospital and held senior leadership roles in rural hospital consulting, including Interim Chief Executive Officer during a hospital reopening and clinical leadership during the COVID‑19 pandemic.
