Wanxing Cui, MD, PhD, CABP(H), directs the Cell Therapy Manufacturing Facility at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, an FDA-registered operation supporting pancreatic islet transplantation, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and cellular immunotherapy programs. His work centers on cGMP/cGTP manufacturing, quality management systems, process validation, inspection readiness, and compliance with AABB, FACT, CAP, and FDA requirements.
Within AABB, Dr. Cui chairs the Membership Committee and serves on the Cellular Therapies Section Coordinating Committee and the CABP Commission. In 2026, he spoke on the eCast "The Era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Its Use in Biotherapies" and served as director, moderator, and speaker for "Is IDM Testing of Autologous Donors Protecting Anyone? Rethinking Manufacturing Safety Controls." He mentors emerging professionals through AABB's Early Stage Professionals program and ISCT's Professional Education Program.
