Sheri Goertzen MLS(ASCP), CLS(CA), BB(ASCP), ASQ(CQA) serves as the Transfusion Service Supervisor at Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera, California. Ms. Goertzen has served as an AABB assessor since 1998 and has been very active on many AABB committees over the years including the AABB eLearning Committee, AABB Annual Meeting Education Committee, AABB BB/TS Standards Committee, AABB Education Advisory Committee, AABB Education Program Committee, AABB Accreditation Program Committee, and the AABB BB/TS Accreditation Committee. Most recently, Sheri co-authored the first chapter of the new 22nd edition of the AABB Technical Manual on "Quality Management Systems: Principles and Practice".
Sheri very much enjoys teaching others and has presented various educational sessions for CAMLT, Immucor, SABM, CBBS, and the AABB Annual Meeting and AABB eCasts since 2004. At Valley Children’s Hospital, Sheri is very involved in the education of the CLS interns, nursing staff, and medical staff, and is an active member of the Transfusion Committee, the Radiation Safety Committee, the Therapeutics & Utilization Review Committee, the Patient Safety Committee, the Trauma Advisory Committee, and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine team. Sheri has 2 grown daughters and 3 grandchildren who she adores and loves to spend time with, and enjoys good restaurants, wine tasting, concerts, theatre, and traveling.
