With a career spanning almost 50 years, Eva Quinley, MS, MT(ASCP)SBB, CQA(ASQ) currently works as an independent consultant in the transfusion medicine and plasma industries, providing consultation in the areas of operations, quality, regulatory, training principles and soft skills. She retired for the first time in April 2020 from her position as Regional Director, Vitalant-Illinois and for the second time in October 2024 from her position as Global Head of Regulatory and Senior Director of the Testing Laboratory at CSL Plasma. Prior to this she served as COO of MEDIC Regional Blood Center in Knoxville, Tennessee, the SVP of QRA at New York Blood Center, and the SVP of QRA at the American Red Cross. She is very active in AABB, having served on numerous committees, notably chair of the Accreditation Committee and chair of the TMSC. She received the Hemphill-Jordan Award for leadership in 2018. Eva has authored chapters and articles in transfusion medicine publications, including most recently the AABB Technical Manual. Her textbook, Immunohematology Principles and Practice is in its 3rd edition. She has presented in a variety of topics throughout the United States and internationally.
Eva’s favorite quote is “Success is a journey, not a destination.” While her passion is transfusion medicine – once a blood banker, always a blood banker, she says it is the people she has met and will meet that mean the most. Currently residing in Knoxville, Tennessee, Eva loves teaching, mentoring, singing, boating, photographay and spending time at the baseball fields as her grandsons’ number one fan.
