Regina Castor, BS MLS (ASCP) SBBcm, currently serves as a Global Support Engineer for Reagents for Werfen. She is a respected leader in clinical laboratory science and transfusion medicine with more than 30 years of experience across hospital laboratories, reference testing services, and the diagnostics industry. She is recognized for her strategic leadership, regulatory expertise, and ability to drive measurable improvements in operational efficiency, quality systems, and customer outcomes within complex healthcare environments. Since 2008, Regina has served as a voluntary assessor for both the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB) and the College of American Pathologists (CAP), supporting laboratory excellence and compliance across the field.
In her current role, she provides advanced technical leadership and subject matter expertise in transfusion medicine, laboratory operations, automation implementations, regulatory compliance, and escalation management. Throughout her career, she has successfully led and developed teams of Blood Bank Technical Specialists while supporting customers and organizations through complex validations, implementations, and operational challenges. Her responsibilities include regulatory and quality initiatives, troubleshooting and escalation management, workflow analysis, and customer education strategies that promote clinical excellence.
