Theresa N. Kinard, MD, is Associate Medical Director of the Blood Bank, Apheresis Services, and the Human Cellular Therapy Laboratory in the Division of Transfusion Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, and serves as Associate Chair of Education for the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. She is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine and is an Assistant Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science . Dr. Kinard earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, followed by fellowship training in Transfusion Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Her professional interests include medical student and graduate medical education, with a focus on advancing transfusion medicine education across training programs.
